Phnom Penh: On Wednesday, 18 September 2024, HE Senior Minister Keo Remy, President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC), assigned HE Sin Bunthoeurn, a member of the CHRC, to lead a [CHRC] working group to the Correctional Centre 2 (M2) for investigating detainees’ complaints.

After the investigation at Correctional Centre 2, the CHRC working group continued to visit the Phnom Penh’s [Police Judiciary] (PJ) prison bringing along human rights law textbooks for detainees to read and study to find out what human rights are. The CHRC received these human rights law textbooks from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Cambodia (OHCHR) for raising human rights awareness.
