On the morning of Monday, 24 April 2023, His Excellency Keo Remy, Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister, and President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC), chaired an internal CHRC meeting, with the participation of Excellencies, leaders, advisors, human rights lawyers and all civil servants of the CHRC. This internal meeting was held to review and monitor the CHRC progress, focusing on:

1. Preparation of the draft [law on the establishment] of a national human rights institution
2. Development of a CHRC mobile application

The meeting reported on the progress of the draft law on the establishment of the national human rights institution of Cambodia. It was prepared in early 2021 and has been open to public consultation, as well as to all parties at the national, sub-national and regional levels. It has now been finalised and is to be sent to the Office of the Council of Ministers soon.

At the same time, the meeting also highlighted new CHRC progress — a mobile application (CHRC App) has just been launched to enable everyone to have easy access to information about and may connect with the CHRC faster. Through this mobile application, everyone may send questions, suggestions or concerns and, in particular, will find it easier to file complaints about cases of human rights violations to the CHRC without having to come to its premises.
