HE Pa Ponnarada, CHRC Member, Participated in the 13th Cambodia-Japan Human Rights Dialogue at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

Phnom Penh: HE Keo Remy, Senior Minister, President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC), assigned two CHRC members, HE Pa Ponnarada and Mr Duk Dom, to participate in the 13th Cambodia-Japan Human Rights Dialogue, which took place on 29 August 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and with the participation of the representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Information, National Election Committee, and representatives of the Japanese delegation.
The dialogue aims to discuss and exchange views on the development of the human rights situation in Cambodia from September 2023 to the present time, focusing on key areas including (1) democracy; (2) freedom of expression, assembly and association; (3) freedom of the press and the right to information; (4) free and fair elections; (5) judicial reform and legal aid programmes; (6) protection of the rights of vulnerable groups (women, children, people with disabilities, and LGBT groups); and (7) international cooperation.
