His Excellency Phay Heng, participated in the 34th World Population Day Forum
On the morning of Tuesday, 11 July 2023, His Excellency Phay Heng, Advisor to the Cambodian Human Rights Committee, participated in the 34th World Population Day Forum under the theme “Unleashing the Power of Gender Equality: Raising the Voices of Women and Girls to Demonstrate the Unlimited Possibilities of Our World” under the chairmanship of His Excellency Dr Chhay Thorn, Senior Minister, Minister of Planning.
The forum was organised by the Ministry of Planning, in collaboration with UNFPA, with the aim of raising public awareness of concerns related to population growth and issues, and development, and considering “people as a means of development and the ultimate goal of development.” It also aims to highlight the need to advance gender equality to help realise the dreams of all 8 billion of us through listening to the voices of women and girls and other disadvantaged people, and to advise on laws and policies, which enables them to exercise their rights and choices.
