Phnom Penh: On the morning of 15 January 2026, HE Keo Remy, Senior Minister, President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC), had the honour of presiding over the ceremony installing additional CHRC complaint boxes at Phnom Penh Jail (PJ) and Correctional Centre 1 (M1).

Speaking on the occasion, HE Keo Remy, Senior Minister, emphasised that introducing the complaint boxes seeks to uphold and safeguard human rights, particularly those of detainees, while preserving the Royal Government’s reputation and image both nationally and internationally, and preventing the spread of all malicious, provocative, and misleading information about prison human rights conditions.

At the same time, HE Keo Remy, Senior Minister, commended the leaders and prison officials for their cooperation in protecting and promoting human rights in detention facilities, especially through non-discrimination, avoiding violence against inmates, and adherence to international human rights law.

Taking this opportunity, HE, Keo Remy, Senior Minister, delivered his message to his fellow compatriots, urging them to foster internal unity and instill confidence in the Royal Government to settle the dispute with Thailand via a transparent and peaceful process.

HE Keo Remy, Senior Minister, requested all detainees to work on self-improvement, follow prison instructions attentively, and obey orders to successfully reintegrate into society.
