Excellency Katta Orn, meet and discuss with a RoCK
On the morning of Wednesday, 26 April 2023, at the request of the Coordinator of the Rainbow Community Kampuchea Organisation (RoCK), His Excellency Keo Remy, Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister and President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC), appointed His Excellency Katta Orn, CHRC member and colleagues to meet and discuss with a RoCK Working Group at the CHRC meeting room.
The meeting was organised to provide the RoCK Working Group with an opportunity to present research on the laws of certain countries that allow same-sex marriage and, in addition, discussed the recent developments related to LGBT rights in Cambodia, which implies that significant progress has been made in recent years; under the auspices of the Royal Government, LGBT couples have been recognised and discrimination [rates] against them have remarkably reduced.
During the meeting, further cooperation between the CHRC and RoCK with regard to the promotion and protection of LGBT rights in Cambodia was also discussed.
