Battambang province: HE Senior Minister Keo Remy, President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee and Chairman of the Royal Government Task Force for Koas Kralor District, and HE Bun Hun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Royal Government Task Force for Koas Kralor District, led a Royal Government Task Force to Koas Kralor district for distributing educational materials to 500 students from 6 communes throughout Koas Kralor district, Battambang province and offering Sarongs, scarves, umbrellas and 4,000,000 Riels to teachers, the Union of Youth Federation of Cambodia, the Red Cross, the police and the military police. The event was held on Saturday, 19 October 2024, at the Koas Kralor district hall, Battambang province.

The Senior Minister stated that the Royal Government of Cambodia has paid attention to protecting and promoting the rights and freedoms of children; in particular, the four fundamental rights that children must enjoy include the right to survival, the right to education, the right to development and the right to participation. The promotion and protection of children are a priority for the Royal Government of Cambodia through the implementation of international law, particularly, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and optional protocols, and the development of laws, policies and measures, aimed to meet the needs of children and protection, especially for children to live in freedom, peace and development of children’s fundamental rights, freedom as well as other rights, which may prevail thanks to the peace factor under the leadership of the Royal Government.

These contributions will also lower the expenses for parents buying school supplies for their children who will start the school year in November. The Senior Minister urged all students to work diligently to become good students and citizens, while steering clear of drugs.

On that occasion, HE Keo Remy also extended the best regards from Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to the guardians, students, teachers and local officials of Koas Kralor district, and thanked the district dignitaries for taking care of the well-being of the local people in Koas Kralor district.

On the same day, following the distribution of educational materials, the Senior Minister also led a Task Force meeting to establish a district secretariat and commune focal groups responsible for preparing reports and organising public forums.
